1- took a trip to the Grand Canyon: We had never been to the Grand Canyon and figured since hey! it's Arizona. How cold can it get? that it would be a great winter break trip. It was beautiful and we also got a chance to go sledding (kind of) which is something we hadn't been able to do for a long time. The people were all nice, except for a few (who had obviously never seen a snow storm before). Also, we were sung to by a guy with a guitar while traveling in a train to reach the canyon. Awesome.
2- went sledding:
It was a beautiful drive to Wing Mountain to go sledding, but It was also terrifying. There were so many crashes and car slides we lost count. Scary. We did end up being able to go sledding, even though they closed the main hill. We broke all of our (four) sleds. This is what happens when your hill is rocky and your sleds are flimsy. Dangit
5- redecorated my bedroom wall:
6- drew a picture of a super nice lady on a train: On our train ride up to the Grand Canyon the attendant noticed that I had out my sketch book and stopped to talk to us. She jokingly asked me to draw a picture of her, and I did. It made my day, maybe even my week, when she walked up and down the car to show everyone. I've got a picture of it somewhere. Maybe I'll add it in later.
7- had fro yo with my cute cousins: My aunt, uncle and their adorable kids came to visit from Boise, Idaho before Christmas and we had a great time showing them around and hanging out.
(my weird little sister and cousin Kiera)
9-signed up for guitar lessons: This is something I've wanted to do for a long time. I hadn't been able to get my hands on an affordable guitar until last summer (end of August) my Uncle sold his at the family auction we have each year. I got it for a great price and he immediately started showing me things I would need to know to get started. When I got home from the family reunion I had been at, I practiced and practiced but it soon became apparent that I would need much more than a book to help me learn. (My uncle taught himself. If that isn't talent, I don't know what is.) Last week we wandered into a music shop to find piano sheet music for my younger sister and the guy at the desk asked if we were interested in lessons. Heck yes! :) We signed up right away.
