hello again.

Wow!  It's been forever since I've blogged here.  I feel like this is some weird little time capsule that I'm just now revisiting.  If I'm telling the truth I'm actually procrastinating a project, but that sounds more sentimental.  One reason, other than being preocupied with school, that I have not blogged here in a while, is because I've kind of gotten carried away with other kinds of social networking/media business lately.  I'll link a few of my pages below, so you can see what I've been up to. 

1.  Pinterest:  I really love Pinterest!  It's so cool to see the things my friends are into, and also have a place to organize the things I'm into.  I do all of my Christmas and birthday lists on Pinterest (although my Mom would rather I oldschool write them out), and I love having my clothing inspiration in one (kind of) place. 

2. Tumblr:  I'm pretty new to tumblr, but I like it.  Once you get a steady base of people you like to follow, it is nice to have a feed of photos and posts always there.  Tumblr is not my fav mostly because it's full of whiny teenagers (that's a generalization).  After you get past them you can find some pretty cool stuff though. 

3. Facebook:  I'm not going to link this because It's personal, but I do use it to keep up with old friends.

4. Instagram:  I LOVE instagram!  I kind of became addicted to it last Summer.  Oops.  I love that you can get your point across in a creative and less wordy way.  And lets face it, it's just fun. 

Long story short, I hope I start blogging here again.  It's kind of theraputic actually.  It's like journaling, but your hands don't get all cramped up and I don't have to worry about leaving something important out.  I don't know why I worry about that anyway.  I'm done writing and I don't have a clever way to end.  Bye.

I realised today that I have been slacking on my blogging.  Not even like tiny slacking, but "i actually haven't blogged on my blog in like a month or so" slacking.  Please forgive me. (my four followers)  Anyway, I've been gone a whole lot this summer, and it's been wonderful and annoying and relieving and frustrating.  If that makes any sense at all.  I love travel so much, but there is not much that is better than a day where you have to do absolutely nothing.  I went to EFY (especially for youth) in the beginning of the summer, which was marvelous.  I look forward to it every single year.  Basically all of the Mormon kids go to camp and learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet new people and dance and it's a whole lot of fun.  I learned a lot about myself too.  Things like:  singing in front of a crowd is scary, but not if you do it with friends, be yourself because it is much easier and more enjoyable if you are,  and Jesus is my savior, but also my friend and my brother. After that I went to the pioneer trek, which was fantastic.  We all dressed up as pioneers and hiked miles and miles (20-ish) pulling handcarts.  We played pioneer games and got to know new people, we square danced in the dust, and we learned that it isn't so hard to sleep with a rock in your back when the stars are so beautiful.  The whole experience was terrifying and beautiful at the same time.  Since then, I've been home mostly.  I went to a family reunion, a wedding, a baseball game, and a baby blessing.  I'm still teaching two wonderful girls to play the guitar, and I'm leaving tomorrow for girls camp.  About the inspiration post above:  I understand that it's pretty random, but I think all of the photos fit pretty well under the umbrella of creativity.  Here are my thoughts.

1. Isn't she beautiful?  I want to be the kind of girl who wears dresses and cool things like that, but still looks approachable and not snooty.

2. I've been thinking a lot about this kind of thing lately.  Lets hope he's right.  Also, life doesn't reward anyone, God does.

3.    This painting is fantastic!  It just makes me happy to look at. 

4. I have a friend who makes flower chains sometimes.  I'm thinking I just may start wearing them.

6. I love Peter Pan and Wendy with all my heart.  (and lets not forget Tink)

7. I would love to play on the street like this.

It's Summer!  I'm so dang excited I just might explode.  No really.  It's going to be a super busy one, but totally worth the craziness.  Looking forward into all of the chaos that is certain to ensue, I've been inspired by the little things lately.  This week I'm focusing on writing notes to people that I wouldn't usually, or that wouldn't expect it, and listening to good music that I sometimes overlook for newer stuff.  Have a great week! -Megan

Hyperbole and a half: the second best blog out there

So if you haven't heard of Hyperbole and a half, then now would be a great time to use that google bar and look it up!  I mean, after you finish up on my blog.  I'm not entirely sure that I can explain the wonder that is Hyperbole and a half, accurately, in words, so I'll show you in pictures. 



So long story short, Allie Brosh's blog is pretty dang amazing.  She doesn't post nearly as often as I wish she would, but every time she does, her posts are fantastic and they make me feel embarrassed of myself because I'm sitting there laughing my head off all alone.  Anyway, she's pretty hilarious.  So go on ahead.  You know you want to.

Inspiration: The Hunger Games, Valentines Day, coral, pale pink, Savers

As you can see from my title, I'm still inspired by Valentines Day and The Hunger Games.  I know that probably the past five inspiration posts have some form of Hunger Games something in there, but can you blame me for being super excited?  We just got tickets for the midnight showing and I am more than a little excited!  As for Valentines Day, yes I do know it is over.  But I love it!  Mostly I just like the colors and cute little cards etc.  So, yeah.  There's some more of that in this post too.  :) And lastly, I didn't really know how to explain the color, but I'm inspired by the color of old/vintage pictures.  That sort of light pink, yellow-y color, if you know what I mean.  Anyway, have a great day!  -Megan

I got the confirmation email yesterday to tell me that my ukulele
 is on its way here!  The model I am getting is the same as the picture above, a Lanikai pineapple ukulele.  Yippee!
